The MMHCC Repository maintains up to 40 strains as live colonies. These are marked as "Live Mice" on the strain list. Colonies are maintained under specific pathogen-free (SPF) conditions. Genetic integrity of all MMHCC strains is monitored by PCR genotyping.
A maximum of three breeder pairs (3 males and 3 females) may be requested per order. Please note that in some cases (e.g., strains carrying mutations that cause a detrimental phenotype in the homozygous state) breeder pairs are shipped as one mutant mouse and one wild-type animal of the same genetic background.
All MMHCC mice are FREE, however, the recipient is responsible for all shipping costs.
Orders for mouse models must be placed online through this website. To order a particular mouse model, simply select the model you are interested in from the strain list and click on the link under the "Place an Order” column. Please fill out the order form as completely as possible. Missing information may delay the processing of your order.
For order-related questions please contact Debra Fitzgerald at fitzgeraldd@mail.nih.gov or (301) 846-1544. Technical questions regarding the website and the online ordering system should be directed to the NCI-Frederick webmaster at webmaster@css.ncifcrf.gov.
After you submit the on-line order form, you will be brought to a confirmation page which has a link to the Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) for that particular mouse model. You will need to print 2 copies of this MTA and have each signed by the Recipient Scientist and the Authorized Recipient Official of your institution. An Authorized Recipient Official is someone who is authorized to sign legal documents on behalf of the institution; this person usually works in the Technology Transfer Department or the Office of Sponsored Research. The two signed originals of the MTA need to be mailed to:
Marie H. Priest
Technology Transfer Branch
National Cancer Institute
Executive Plaza South, Suite 450
6120 Executive Boulevard
Rockville, MD 20852
All questions pertaining to the MTA (clarification
of terms, status of an MTA, etc.) should be directed to Marie Priest
at priestm@exchange.nih.gov or (301)
435-3036.
